ABOUT MCCARLCREEK PHOTOGRAPHICS

McCarl Creek - the creek that runs through the north side of our property
Photographics - the class in high school that got me started in photography and commercial printing
Welcome. I started photography way back in high school with my dad's 1950s Kodak Retina 1b camera and a hand-held light meter. Black and white film and color transparencies were my primary mediums of choice, I developed, printed, and framed all of my work. I am a late-comer to the digital world of photography. The medium is different, but the concepts are the same. I still process, print, and frame all of my photographs. To this day, I shoot most of my photographs in manual mode, on a tripod, with a hand-held light meter. I like to tell the camera what I want, not the other way around.
The photographics class in high school introduced me to the printing trade, I worked as a photographer and printer off and on for the next fifteen years. I became very interested in pursuing art and received a BA in Art, with photography, metalsmithing, and wood design as my concentrations. Currently, I work as a computer tech.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look. If you have any questions about any of the photographs, please contact me, I'll tell you all about them.
